makeChip provides a maintained IT infrastructure with a full set of commercial EDA tool installations and technology data setup, i.e. PDKs, foundation IP and complex IP. All tools and design data are linked by Racyics’ silicon proven design flows and professional project management system. The turnkey environment enables any makeChip customer to realize complex System on Chips in the advanced technology nodes.

Comprehensive Collection of Leading EDA Tools

makeChip access includes a complete suite of state-of-the-art EDA tools from Cadence®, Synopsys®, and Siemens EDA. For non-commercial academic projects, licences can be provided without additional costs. The comprehensive tool set enables design work in all GlobalFoundries® technologies including double pattern nodes like 22FDX. For commercial projects, EDA vendors are ready to discuss appropriate license models.

Secured Access and Storage

Access to makeChip is maintained via secured remote log in to a virtual UNIX desktop optimized for integrated circuit design powered by AWS with data centers in Europe. It allows highly interactive graphic design tasks like custom analog layout generation. Additionally, Racyics takes multiple actions to secure and protect customer Design Data and third-party IPs.

A Rapid-Adaption Kit and Courses to Accelerate Your Design

With makeChip, users have unlimited access to our Rapid Adaption Kit. The tapeout-ready 22FDX sample design is equipped with full set of peripherie. On top, the implemented RICV-PE can be replaced with customer IPs if needed to provide a comprehensive solution for rapid adaptation and accelerated chip development. Furthermore, 22FDX design training courses can be offered to customers, empowering learners with valuable insights and practical knowledge from RTL to GDS.


Scalability

GF® Foundry Access and Packaging Service

As Channel Partner of GlobalFoundries, Racyics’ foundry access service helps makeChip customers to send their integrated circuit designs directly to GlobalFoundries fabs for manufacturing. This includes small area MPW contributions (< 4 mm²) to advanced nodes like 22FDX. In addition, Racyics offers packaging services for standard wire-bond packages (e.g., QFN) as well as complex flip-chip packages. Both options are available for low-volume and prototyping.

Racyics ABX® Platform, a silicon-proven 22FDX IP Library, makes these applications universally accessible. By using adaptive body biasing, reliable and predictable ultra-low voltage operation down to 0.4 V is possible. Design Enablement provides everything necessary for start-ups, SMEs, and academia to independently design chips in advanced technology nodes without upfront investment in infrastructure, methodology, or flows. The turnkey cloud platform makeChip offers a secure and integrated path to silicon by seamlessly linking design, foundry access, packaging, and test. This enables teams to minimize outsourcing of design services, maintain control, and achieve first-time-right silicon.

Can I get a free trial of makeChip?

makeChip customers have access to confidential data. Due to the required process, a trail access can not be provided. However, a walkthrough can be given on request.

Which EDA tools are available on makeChip?

All tools from the major EDA vendors like Synopsys, Cadence and Siemens are installed and maintained in different versions. If a tool is missing, it can be requested via support ticket.

Is makeChip suitable for beginners in chip design?

The provided design flows are a great starting point to develop a chip. However, manual adjustments are still required as well as knowledge about the individual tools and steps. If the platform is suitable for your needs is to be discussed in a joint meeting.

Which semiconductor technologies are supported by makeChip?

makeChip is not limited to any technology. As a channel partner of GlobalFoundries, PDKs from GF are preinstalled. However, on request, PDKs from other vendors can be enabled.

How does makeChip secure my design data? Design data on makeChip is handled with the highest standards of confidentiality and security. Access to the platform is only possible through secure VPN connections, ensuring that only authorized users can reach your project environment. All data is stored in protected EU-based facilities with strict access controls, continuous monitoring, and regular backups. We follow industry best practices to keep your intellectual property safe at all times.
